Four handy walking guides which allow you to explore a different section of the city.
In Walking Guide  Antwerp Centre you can discover all the star attractions of the historic city centre during a walk which takes about three hours. The other walking guides ,  and  connect seamlessly to the basic trail with different junctions. Every time you arrive at a junction you have the option of exploring another section of the city in more detail or to continue your way and follow the basic trail. The extension guides follow the directions of the wind: South, North and East. Each guide will take you on a 1.5 hr fun walk.

Step into the shoes of the leading Baroque artist of his era. Rubens and his family lived in this palatial setting for well over 25 years and it is here that the artist created the lion’s share of his work. Here he entertained Europe’s nobility and Royalty and stored his impressive art collection in a beautiful art room. This museum is the continuation of the Of the Officina Plantiniana, founded by Christoffel Plantijn in 1555, as the first industrial printing works in history. Granted by Unesco in 2005, the museum demonstrates the entire book production process from the 15th to the 18th century.

Grote Markt originally was a forum or square just outside the medieval residential quarter. In 1220 Duke Henry I of Brabant (1165-1235) donated this community land to the city.
The name Merckt was used for the first time in 1310.
