You can easily get to Antwerp by train. National and international trains such as Thalys and Eurostar (as of 2016) stop in Antwerp-Central Station and Antwerp-Berchem. There are fifteen trains to and from Antwerp every hour.
Calling at Antwerp by ship is a unique experience. Ocean cruises moor in the city centre. Passengers are greeted by the sight of the Cathedral of Our Lady from the gangway. The cruise terminal is just a five-minute walk from the historic city centre, the main shopping streets and the many pubs and restaurants in the city.
A visit behind the scenes gives you an intimate glimpse into a diamond cutting shop and a diamond exchange - places an outsider never normally gets to see. Visits are possible for groups of up to 20 people.
Your guide will help you experience the heyday, downfall and resurrection of Antwerp’s diamond industry in the 19th century. Via the Central Station you’ll walk to the Diamond Square Mile – the home of diamond workers, jewellers and diamond merchants. In the diamond district bust merchants hurry through the streets – always on the way to their next transaction.
