An emphasis on flavour, aromas and passion

Discover some of the gems produced by the Modeste brewers and the Family Brewers. In recent years, more than 4,000 enthusiastic visitors sampled the tasty beers of Belgian craft brewers.

An homage to brewer Modeste Van den Bogaert

The Modeste Beer Festival is also an homage to Modeste Van den Bogaert. He went to work for the De Koninck Brewery soon after World War II as his father died at a young age. He led the brewery for over fifty years.

25 craft brewers

Modeste also means modest, humble. That is why we invited a number of Belgian craft brewers. Learn more about the fascinating world of beer during the many side events.

Public transport

Antwerp is a pocket-sized city. Many of the attractions are within walking or biking distance of each other. Another way of getting around the city is on the trams and buses of De Lijn. Tip: buy your tram or bus ticket in a point of pre-sale (newsagent’s, supermarket, the vending machines at the various stops or in the visitor centres of Visit Antwerp), where tickets are cheaper.
