Richard Deacon. Some Time.

In the summer of 2017, the Middelheim Museum is organizing a solo exhibition about leading British sculptor Richard Deacon. This is further to the restoration of 'Never Mind', his monumental key work from the museum collection.

Richard Deacon has been at the forefront of European sculpture since the 1980s. His abstract sculptures are made of a wide variety of materials, including wood, textiles, steel, clay, from vinyl and PVC. The works are sometimes in a format that suits the indoors, while he has large-scale installations perfect for the outdoors. He creates complex figures by turning and bending the wood and steel.
