Wheelchair-accessible tourist route

If you use a wheelchair, you can now explore Antwerp more enjoyably and with a minimum of assistance thanks to two new wheelchair-accessible routes. These interesting, attractive routes connect a number of Antwerp’s highlights and incorporate plenty of nice pit stops to help you get the most out of your trip to our city on the Scheldt.

Two routes

This information is available as a map showing the two routes through the city. The first route (3 km) starts at Antwerp Central Station and takes you along the Meir, past the Stadsfeestzaal, the Rubens House, the courtyard of the Palace on the Meir and Theaterplein to Grote Markt. The second route (3.5 km) then continues from Grote Markt to the Eilandje district, where you’ll find many wheelchair-accessible bars and restaurants and also the terrace on the ninth floor of the MAS.

These interesting, attractive routes connect a number of Antwerp’s highlights and incorporate plenty of nice pit stops to help you get the most out of your trip to our city on the Scheldt.

Pick up a map free of charge at the Visit Antwerp information centre on Grote Markt or in Antwerp Central Station.
